Looking back at the records, it seems that we have been working with Symbiostock since April 5th, when we deployed our first site. Interestingly, it only took until April 7th to get our first spammer signup!
The basic Symbiostock theme from Leo Blanchette is now pretty solid, the bugs are being squashed, and a lot of the new developments are in the network sphere. In particular, Steve has a network search engine under development as well as a database of network site metadata, and Andrzej also has a network search engine running. The network interlinkage is the real hope for success, as it has a huge effect on Symbiostock’s visibility on the Web – at least on Google.
‘moeraki boulders stock’ search’
Doing an image search on ‘moeraki boulders stock photo’ has our pics well up with the big agencies. Doing the same search on Bing/Yahoo images returns no PictureMojo results in the first few screens. Our only image on the first page is one posted to a wordpress.com blog 2 days ago. Further research needed!
